Presenter Bio:

David F. Khalili is a Licensed Therapist, board-certified sexologist, and founder of Rouse Relational Wellness, a boutique sex and relationship therapy center serving San Francisco and all of California. David’s book Mental Health Workbook for Men was published recently to help men improve their relationships with themselves and others. David focuses on working with men, couples, groups, and multi-ethnic individuals.
Growing up immersed in the burgeoning internet, David not only still hears the purr of the dial-up modem, but constantly tickered and tested different innovations throughout the last 30 years. David later spent ten years working in IT, learning how big companies truly think about customer data.
This background has instilled in him a healthy level of skepticism towards the early adoption of technology. Before training in psychotherapy, David was a peer sex educator, worked in sex shops in California and Texas, and received his Masters degree in Sexuality Studies from San Francisco State University, where his work focused on Middle Eastern queer folks as well as the intersections of kink and trauma.

Description
This workshop explores the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence in mental health therapy, with a specific focus on California's legal and ethical considerations. Participants will delve into current AI applications, policy changes, and the challenges and benefits of integrating AI tools into practice. We will examine real-world case studies and relevant legislation to equip therapists with the knowledge and resources to navigate this complex field responsibly. By the end of this training, you will have a comprehensive understanding of AI's role in mental health, empowering you to address ethical dilemmas and implement best practices confidently.
Educational Goals
In this interactive workshop, we will first review existing research on interracial relationships and discuss the nuances within those relationship dynamics. Participants will then learn effective strategies for gathering information in a culturally conscious, direct, yet empathetic manner, essential for building trust and understanding. Clinical implications and techniques will be provided to equip clinicians with the proper tools to facilitate meaningful and transformative conversations. We will also explore practical approaches for addressing common challenges and biases that may arise in therapeutic settings.
This course is designed to appeal to clinicians at all levels of experience.
